Hi, I’m Rumbi. I grew up in Zimbabwe, having attended Arundel and Chisipite Senior Schools in the early 2000’s. I then moved to South Africa to study a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance and Economics at Wits University. That set me up to for a 12-year career in investment banking at J.P. Morgan where I helped to raise over US$35 billion of debt capital for various African corporates and governments.

From there, I traded in my Executive Director cap to take a career break to explore some of my other interests. First, I studied a Masters in Digital Transformation and Innovation Leadership at IE University in Spain. Second, I started this website which brought me to you. I’ve since re-joined corporate life as an executive at Sasai Fintech, a pioneering African fintech platform.

Why did I start this website?

I'm passionate about providing mentorship to help you make the best decisions possible as you move towards a happy and fulfilling life.

The right conversations, and access to the right people at the right time could make a hugely positive difference to your success. The issue is often that young people don't know who to ask for an objective outside opinion and whether that's genuinely a safe space.

Well I'm here as part of the solution, and I really hope you reach out!

Trivia

I love music (especially jazz), I’m into tennis, golf, taking long walks, eating any and all good food, and travelling (30 countries and counting).

My best habit: I read at least one book per month.

My worst habit: I can binge-watch series all night once I'm hooked :-/

The thing I am practising most: being creative!

So much so that I have a second blog where I talk about careers and general adulting issues that my fellow Millenials and I are experiencing. If you really can't get enough of me, feel free to check it out :-)
